AI Killed Computer Language Preferences

It used to be that everyone in tech development had a preference for a language, and it was often the one you were most familiar with. Like a religion, the more you used your language, the more you were convinced it was the only language that would do everything.

But in the age of AI, the language you use is immaterial. PHP? C? Java? It really doesn’t matter anymore. Any developer who knows one language can code in all of them because AI makes it easy. And when you can switch between them at a moment’s notice, which language you prefer fades away.

So if a company is starting to build software and tells you what language you must use to develop it in, that’s a red-flag. Their insistence is a thin disguise for preference.
